Mobile inventory will be on the block for the first time during this year's TV upfront, thanks in large part to MediaFlo, a multicast mobile network, Ad Age reports.
CBS, NBC Universal, Fox, ESPN and Viacom will be distributing their content over their own MediaFlo mobile channels. The networks will offer primetime series, video on demand and even classic shows. Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman said the company has already lined up Intel and Pepsi to sponsor its mobile offerings.
ABC said it would not participate in the mobile offerings via MediaFlo, citing a disagreement over terms. The network is thought to be exploring other mobile distribution alternatives.
NBC also plans to offer through a competing unicast service, MobiTV.
