Adobe's Apollo Challenges AJAX

Adobe has released new software, dubbed Apollo, that it says is even easier to use and more dynamic than the popular AJAX technology for developing Web 2.0 features, reports CNET.
Unlike AJAX, Apollo will allow programmers to create user-friendly applications that run both online and offline. AJAX has powered many of the Web 2.0 applications popular now, and Apollo could help Adobe capture some programmer mindshare.

Adobe is hoping the integration of Flash, technology that's widely used and which allows for offline application, will play a major role in Apollo's adoption.

While Apollo and other competitors for rich internet applications continue to emerge, there's acknowledgment that the full potential of AJAX hasn't yet been tapped.
