Deanna Brown, former head of Yahoo Media Group's Lifestyles division, has jumped to Scripps Networks to become the new president of the company's interactive group, writes MediaWeek.
At Scripps, Brown will be tasked with managing the growth of the company’s expanding number of niche broadband websites, among other duties. Scripps's online divisions have been booming, bringing in $21 million in fourth-quarter revenue - a 90 percent jump year over year.
CPMs for Scripps broadband outlets - which include HGTV and DIY network - are in the $30-$35 range, versus $15-$18 for a more traditional internet banner or other presence, writes MediaPost. Scripps Networks is the fastest-growing division of The E.W. Scripps Co.
Brown had worked at Yahoo since October 2005, serving as the general manager of Yahoo Media Group's Lifestyles business unit, helping to revamp Yahoo Health and leading the launch of Yahoo Food just last November.
