Wrigley's Candystand Launches Microsite for Wii

Wrigley's game site Candystand has launched a new site offering online games just for Nintendo Wii owners. The microsite can be accessed via the Nintendo Wii's Internet Channel, which uses a version of the Opera browser, Ad Age reports.

The site launched earlier this month, welcoming 6,000 visitors within the first 24 hours of going live, according to Scott Tannen, director of global digital marketing at Wrigley.

The microsite, Wii.candystand.com, is the first branded site to link to the Wii browser and offer content that's formatted for TVs rather than computer screens.

Tannen adds that visitors have increasingly entered the internet through the Wii browser in the month since it was introduced and "felt the need to be there quickly. We're all gamers, and we take this space very seriously."
