aQuantive's Q4 Profits Double

Based largely on growth, organic as well as resulting from acquisitions, in its digital marketing and advertising services, aQuantive's profits in the fourth quarter of 2006 nearly doubled over the same period in 2005, reports ClickZ.

aQuantive owns several smaller entities, including digital marketing technology firms Atlas and Accipiter as well as digital marketing services provider Avenue A/Razorfish. All those digital marketing businesses saw Q4 revenues rise between 27percent and 33 percent over 2005 numbers. Ad network DRIVE revenue jumped 55 percent, to a record $570 million.

Despite encroachment on its digital territory by large holding companies such as Publicis, which recently bought digital firm Digitas, aQuantive holds that its sole focus on the field will help it stand out from the pack.

Building out that specialty position has been what has fueled the series of acquisitions it's made in the last year.
