Nielsen Rolls out DigitalPlus Service

Bringing together multiple ventures under one umbrella, Nielsen will now provide more unified numbers on the habits of the viewing public, according to MediaWeek.

The service will be called Nielsen DigitalPlus and consolidate data from a variety of sources to offer subscribers a more all-inclusive picture of viewer activity.

The offering will first focus on how to bring electronic measurement to all markets and how to accurately measure interactive advertising. It will also be able to provide holistic subscriber numbers to service providers.

DigitalPlus will roll up information from cable and satellite partners, Nielsen Media Research ratings and Monitor Plus commercial activity, as well as retail and forecasting numbers from other Nielsen units. The DigitalPlus data will be collected via set-top boxes in homes.
