AKQA Named Digital Agency of the Year by OMMA Mag

Independent shop AKQA has nabbed OMMA magazine's award for Agency of the Year.

The digital firm took top honors for work on behalf of clients such as Coke, Diageo's Johnnie Walker brand, Visa, McDonald's and Microsoft, MediaPost reports. AKQA has been in the news recently for being on the auction block, with reports saying the price could be as high as $150 million.

MediaPost's Media magazine and Marketing Daily also announced its yearly winners this week, including Starcom Media as Agency of the Year; Apple Computer, Marketer of the Year; Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Media Department of the Year; Toyota, Automotive Marketer of the Year; and Unilever's Dove, Consumer Packaged Goods Marketer of the Year.
