Vlogging superstar Amanda Congdon has landed a job as the star of the new web-based show "Starring Amanda Congdon."

Congdon, who works as a video blogger for ABCnews.com, is launching the new show in partnership with New York-based video sharing startup blip.tv, ClickZ reports. Congdon's new webshow, which debuted on December 22, gives a behind-the-scenes look at her life as she juggles new projects. It will also be distributed via MySpace and iTunes.

The series has secured two advertisers - Dove Cream Oil Body Wash, a Unilever product available in February 2007, and Paltalk, an internet video chat community - possibly indicating that video blogging is becoming a format that's attractive to advertisers.

"Advertisers that have wanted to tap into the growth of online video but have been concerned about random and unpredictable viral videos have now found an outlet in independently produced shows like Amanda's," says blip.tv chief operating officer Dina Kaplan.
