NBC Taps Perrette as Digital Content Negotiator

Former NBC Universal Cable chief financial officer Jean-Briac Perrette was named president of NBC Universal digital distribution, reports AdAge.
Perrette will be the lead negotiator with web-search giants such as Google and Yahoo and other internet portals interested in partnering with NBC for content, and will also spearhead interactive TV operations, on-demand platforms and IPTV alongside partnerships with wireless carriers and emerging digital companies.

NBC said earlier this year that it would lay off 700 and retool for the digital age as part of an initiative dubbed NBC 2.0.

This is the second appointment aimed at replacing David Zazlav, former president of NBC's TV and new-media distribution, who is departing to head Discovery Communications. Last week, NBC Universal appointed Bridget Baker as president of television networks distribution.
