Lisa Nova
The Daily Reel, which features some of the best of online video, has signed YouTube funnywoman Lisa Nova - the site's first deal with an independent artist. Both parties will share in the ad revenue her clips bring in.
The first of the clips went live Tuesday. As part of the new partnership, the Daily Reel will integrate some sort of product placement, according to site officials quoted by MediaWeek. Nova, known for mocking artist Diddy, herself, and others, has been streamed more than 6.7 million times on YouTube.
"This partnership is a perfect example of the evolution in online video, where content friendly sites such as the Daily Reel do not simply host videos, but actually seek out and recruit the best talent on the web and work closely with them to generate revenue from the content they create," said Daily Reel cofounder Jeff Stern.
The Daily Reel has retained the online marketing firm Special Ops Media for its strategic marketing services and the rollout of this program and other initiatives.
