Google is rumored to be planning a "massive" corporate reorganization, according several sources cited by ThoughtShapers.com.
The restructuring would ostensibly involve assigning one global account director per account who "pulls in resources…PPC, print, radio, video, display, etc.," Jeff Molander of ThoughtShapers quotes from a post by DM News's Giselle Abramovich and cites two other "credible" sources confirming an upcoming restructuring. Apparently, the leaks are coming from within Google.
Google reportedly will also be moving quickly with AdSense for Audio to monetize podcasts and other forms of streaming or on-demand audio. "Google intentionally uses these leaks to gauge industry receptiveness and craft…spin," Molander quotes an unnamed source as saying.
Google plans to consolidate various product technologies, CEO Eric Schmidt and cofounders Larry Page and Sergey Brin told reporters earlier this month. "We don't want people to have to learn about 20 different products that work in 20 different ways," Brin was quoted as having said.
