YouTube, Warner Ink Music Video Pact

Warner Music Group videos and music will be available for legal use on YouTube as a result of a new partnership.

The YouTube and Warner Music partnership will make Warner music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews and original programming available on YouTube, reports Reuters. Moreover, YouTube users will be allowed to use music from Warner's catalog in the videos they create and upload. The deal calls for both parties to share ad revenue generated from Warner's videos as well as user-generated works.

The deal comes as Vivendi's Universal Music has threatened to sue YouTube and MySpace as a result of widespread copyright infringement by their users.

Last month, Warner became YouTube's first partner for its Brand Channel ad vehicle, promoting the new Paris Hilton album. YouTube has over 100 million video views a day, and Warner Music is the world's fourth largest music company.
