Yahoo Updates Web Mail, Partners with TV Guide

Yahoo has launched a new beta version of Yahoo Mail as well as a partnership with TV Guide that will allow Yahoo to put program guides online.

The new version of free, ad-supported we-based Yahoo Mail is being rolled out in several countries and offers improved speed and performance, as well as a calendar-timeline view, which includes the ability to view maps of meeting places, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal reports. Users can also have multiple emails open simultaneously and view them with tabbed navigation and keyboard shortcuts - as well as drag and drop emails into folders as they can with email client software.

The new version is available in the U.S., Australia/New Zealand, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, and Taiwan.

Separately, Yahoo said TV Guide program guides will now be featured in some Yahoo content, including its Go TV service.
