The mobile TV audience is growing like gangbusters, according to a study from Telephia.
In the second quarter the audience grew 45 percent from Q1, to 3.7 million subscribers, and mobile TV revenues increased 67 percent, to $86 million. The growth opens up new marketing opportunities, writes iMedia Connection. ABC News was the most watched mobile TV channel in Q2, accounting for 40 percent of the total mobile TV audience.
"Mobile TV is the fastest growing wireless data service, and marketers are working quickly to figure out how they can capitalize on what has the potential to be the most important new form of media since the advent of the internet," Tamara Gaffney, Telephia director of product management, is quoted as saying.
