The latest among ad-supported social networking sites - this one music-based, dubbed "MOG" (music blog?) - will officially launch today, writes MediaPost. The site includes profile pages, including artists', that feature a full catalog of the music on members' hard drives - MOG automatically updates the list. During the beta, only a single ad was displayed, on the top right of each profile page.
Mog users can blog about the music they like, search for others with similar tastes, and create a list of "trusted MOGs."
"People can go to your page to see what you added this week, your top song this week - they can even see the top songs you played and the tracks you listen on your iPod," MOG founder and CEO David Hyman is quoted as saying.
