Double Fusion Acquires In-Game Ad Firm

Double Fusion has acquired in-game ad agency Eiko Media, which specializing in "storyline integrations" - or in-game product placements - writes ClickZ. Eiko cofounder and sole employee Ashley Swartz says the agency closed more than $1 million in in-game integration deals in the past year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Swartz will become Double Fusion's senior director of creative strategy, in charge of efforts to build customized in-game campaigns for marketers; she'll work with game studios "to develop contextual advertising opportunities" to sell to advertisers.

Eiko has worked with agencies like SMG Play and publishers and game studios such as Ubisoft and Sony Online Entertainment. It has helped integrated DaimlerChrysler vehicles into Ubisoft's "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter," and GMC vehicles into "CSI 3."
