Yahoo Search Tests Ad Relevance Algorithm

Yahoo has apparently released a test version of a new search advertising monetization model in Scandinavia and will roll it out to the U.K. in July, reports Forbes.com (via MarketingPilgrim). Similar to Google's ranking of ads both by bid amount and by ad relevance, Yahoo's model, codenamed "Project Panama," is intended to increase click-through rates. A U.S. rollout is expected in late 2006 or early 2007.
