Nickelodeon has acquired GoCityKids, an online city directory and resource for both visiting and local families, reports MediaBuyerPlanner. The GoCityKids website allows parents to search for activities, keeps them informed of dates for local events and attractions, and can be searched by kids' ages and activity preferences.

Content is written by parents and includes user feedback, parents' ratings of listings, as well as local details. The site also offers a weekly newsletter by city with local editor's top picks for what to do with kids that week.

The site provides information on top destinations for family travel including San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, among others. Under Nick, GoCityKids will broaden its reach from 14 to 20 cities by end of first quarter 2006.
