With the release last week of Firefox 1.5, Mozilla has launched Firefox Flicks, a two-stage, community-driven marketing campaign to drive worldwide adoption of Firefox, writes ClickZ. First, users are invited to record video testimonials and encouraged to link to video.spreadfirefox.com by the lure of "affiliate points" to win Mozilla gear; winners will be selected weekly.
The second phase is expected to begin in mid-December and will ask the creative community to develop :30 ads about Firefox; the best ads will be used by Mozilla in web and TV campaigns.
