Political Bloggers Jailed, Detained, Silenced

Libya has sentenced blogger Abd-al-Raziq al-Mansuri, 52, to prison after he criticized the government online, and Egypt has detained Abdolkarim Nabil Seliman, a 21-year-old law student, who criticized the government and Islamic fundamentalism in his blog, probably the first such case in the country, according to Human Rights Watch, reports CNET. Reporters Without Borders, meanwhile, called on China to reopen a blog it shut down just days after it was nominated for a free speech award in Germany.
