eBay-owned Skype has launched a new version of its internet telephony software and has hinted that it might soon offer online video, reports NetImperative (U.K.). The firm has launched Personalise Skype, a feature that lets callers send and receive pictures, sounds and ringtones and could in the future be used to transfer video.
Users can now also forward incoming Skype calls to another Skype account for free - and to up to three landline or mobile numbers for as little as 2 cents a minute, depending on local rates.
