Dem Congressmen to FEC: Hands Off Blogs

A group of 14 congressmen - all Democrats - along with some internet pundits sent letters to the Federal Election Commission asking it to extend the same special treatment it gives traditional media sources to blogs, according to CNET. The FEC is slated to announce proposed rules on regulating the internet in regards to campaigns on March 26. Several Republican commissioners have indicated it might make sense to treat blog posts as in-kind contributions to campaigns.
