MSN Search Bows Fake Blog Ring Viral Campaign

The ever-watchful Adland reports that Microsoft pulled together an uber-viral campaign, patching together pieces of already-popular viral video footage from the web into a web ring run by fictional characters that promote MSN Search. Instead of linking to the viral videos, a Microsoft Search box is presented at the bottom of some pages of the the web ring sites, prepopulated with a keyword that will lead viewers to a canned set of results including the desired video. After the Adland story ran, it appears some of the video files have been become inaccessible.
