$750MM Might Settle AOL Accounting Scandal

Reuters: Time Warner, SEC to settle?

The Washington Post reports that Time Warner is close to a $750 million deal with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for alleged shady accounting dealings. The reported settlement payment is about half again as large as a half billion dollar reserve Time Warner announced it was putting aside to deal with the issue. Interestingly, the deal would not settle charges against private individuals who worked for AOL.
