Searchblog: Google Takes Another Step Toward Becoming Development Environment

Google introduced a programming interface to its Google Deskbar, allowing developers to add functionality. Some examples given: adding a search for music on a user's hard drive and solving algebraic equations. The move could extend Google's play for PC desktops to relationships with third party programmers and software vendors.
