Google: Content Policy
Google finally published some of its guidelines as to what will get ads accepted or rejected. Verboten are fireworks, hacking aids, spam services, miracle cures and prostitution. Those were the easy things, though, most of which would be assumed by advertisers. The policies that frustrated many people finding their ads rejected on Google were the more subtle things - like what seems like a ban on negative competitive advertising. These policies, most of which require more discerning evaluation by Google ad approvers, are still not covered in Google's new policies. Missing are the juicy bits revealed in a leaked document on ad practices that Google subsequently disavowed.
