Google Wins First Trademark-Targeting Judgment

AP: German Court Nixes Lawsuit Against Google

A civil suit against Google in Germany - involving claims by software firm Metaspinner that Google's targeting mechanism allowed for abuse of trademarks - was dismissed today by a judge in Hamburg. It marks one of the first times such a case has been adjudicated, rather than settled. The case, brought against Google last spring, sounded suspicious from the start, with Metaspinner's comments on the case sounding very much like a press stunt.
