The amazingly popular musical political spoof of the U.S. presidential candidates is getting more than laughs. JibJab Media is getting threatening missives from the lawyers of the company holding the copyright to Woody Guthrie's This Land is Your Land - the tune used for the satirical lyrics. Typically, authors of satires aren't require to secure permission to use existing works, but that didn't stop Ludlow Music from issuing a cease and desist nastygram along with demands to divulge revenues generated from the song. Ludlow will likely find itself disappointed on both counts, as the satire is still online, and they're not making much money from it.
