Paid Search Growth Leveling

CNET: Paid search feels growing pains

In his conference call with analysts, Yahoo CEO Terry Semel admitted that paid search hadn't grown in the quarter. Both by search query volume and by pricing, the figures were flat, and Wall Street spooked. Year-over-year, paid search is up 39 percent, but the quarter-to-quarter lack of growth indicates the beginning of what is likely a new maturing of the industry.
