Internet Retailer: SmartBargains decides to go public
Late last week, as people in the U.S. were leaving work early for Fourth of July barbeques, SmartBargains filed papers with the Securities and Exchange Commission to go public. Its initial offering size and price remains to be determined. SmartBargains is one of several top-300 e-commerce firms that sells excess inventory, marketing products only if it can offer them at less than half off retail prices.
