Silicon.com: Lycos: We're first with 1GB email
Lycos announced it too will offer a gigabyte of storage with its email service, joining in the avalanche of service improvements (and privacy concerns) dislodged by Google's recent release of its Gmail beta product. Spymac has already claimed the first free gigabyte storage service out of beta, although Lycos is crowing that it is the first major player. The Lycos service will incur a monthly charge of less than four dollars rather than display ads. Yahoo recently announced that it would provide 100 megabytes of storage - ten times less - for free.
