Online advertising network Aptimus today announced 10 new distribution channels for Aptimus Network, a "point of action" network intended to generate leads for advertisers. The new approach offers advertisers the ability to target channels for their placements. Each channel consists of websites grouped by content. Aptimus places relevant offers where consumers are highly engaged in websites, such as at the point of purchase, registration, download, login, or other transactional activity.
The 10 channels are as follows: Active Downloaders, African American, Communication, Early Adopters, Home/New Movers, Local Markets, Photo, Promotional, Self-improvement, and Social Networking.
Aptimus recently announced enhanced behavioral and demographic targeting technology, which fine-tunes audience segmentation by combining desired demographic targets and consumer behavior within a contextual environment. Within each channel, advertisers will be able to target by ZIP code, age, gender, income or country.
Rob Wrubel, President of Aptimus, said, "Over the past year we have been developing and testing new ad formats that can be placed in a variety of transactional locations on a website. The introduction of these channels brings this vision to life."
