Time Inc. Vet Sets Course For AOL Ad Sales Unit Newly Christened 'AOL Media Networks'

On February 1, Time Inc. vet Michael Kelly took over management of the troubled AOL sales operation, replacing Lisa Brown. Kelly restructured the previously scattered sales operation into one group that now handles all non-subscription revenue, making it far easier for sellers and buyers to craft effective property-wide marketing programs. The move was made to address media buyers' concerns about the difficulty of working with the AOL sales force. In an iMediaConnection interview, Underscore Marketing's Jim Meskauskas took notice and had praise for the change.
