CNET: AOL pressed to stop blocking addresses
Ft. Worth Federal Court
A Texas Internet firm asked a Texas judge to rule AOL in contempt for failing to obey an initial injunction to stop blocking the firm's email traffic. AOL blocks some Internet providers when it deems that they may be the source of spam. The Fort Worth, Texas judge will hear arguments on Sept. 2.
The practice by AOL and other large Internet providers of blocking other providers wholesale has come under fire, as both spammers and legitimate companies running their own domains become blacklisted.
