AOL on Thursday said it has reached an agreement with cable operator Charter Communications to offer, starting next week, low-cost high-speed internet service, reports Reuters. Last week, AOL reached similar agreements with phone companies BellSouth, AT&T and Qwest Communications International. AOL has lost millions of dialup subscribers and is attempting to minimize further defections with low-cost high-speed service.
