DM News: Microsoft, AOL Merge E-mail Identity Standards
As rumored last week, Microsoft and AOL are merging their email sender identification process standards, hoping to create a momentum in the industry for a proprietary standard to help quash spam. This leaves Yahoo out in the cold, with its own proprietary standard and no other computer monopoly to play with. But both Microsoft and AOL representatives managed to faintly praise Yahoo's DomainKeys system, indicating that it's a good "long-term" solution that will require more infrastructure changes to implement.
