CBS MarketWatch: AOL dismissed ad agency
The new executive vice president of brand marketing at America Online reportedly has the company looking for a new ad agency. After five days on the job, Leonard Short gave notice to Gotham agency, part of advertising giant Interpublic Group, which had worked with AOL for almost eight years, according to AdAge.com. The agency's last major assignment was the launch of AOL 8.0 service. "This is a very dynamic brand situation," Short said in a statement. "We need the world's best work." AOL's marketing spending was reported to be nearly $1 billion a year.
