AdWeek: AOL Seeks Refund in Wake of Jackson Incident
Time Warner's AOL unit is asking the National Football League (NFL) for a refund of its halftime show sponsorship of the Super Bowl. The Internet division had planned on rebroadcasting the show on its online network but chose to cancel those plans rather than edit out the portion where a publicity stunt gone awry revealed portion of Janet Jackson's right breast. For its part, the NFL said TV network CBS and its MTV production division should be the parties on the hook, even though the sponsorship was sold by the NFL.
