MediaWeek: WB Makes Everwood Available on AOL Broadband
A recent episode of the WB's "Everwood" will be made available for one week to AOL Broadband subscribers. Both the WB and AOL are under the same parent company, Time-Warner, and the move is an effort to expose the show to a broader audience.
Half a year ago, AOL announced turnaround plans for itself, relying heavily on introducing Time Warner video content in a fee-based model. Cynics at the time said this amounted to putting up a smattering of WB content. Also interesting in the new announcement is the time limit placed on the show. Revealing the attitude of the average television programmer, AOL is trying to heighten perceived value by imposing time restrictions.
