America Online has revived its strategy of bundling high-speed access with its service to help curb subscriber flight, CNET reports. AOL on Wednesday began offering its internet service to customers in two test markets - Washington D.C. and Chicago areas - over DSL lines from Covad Communications. The lower end of the service offers 1.5mbps downloads for $29.95 per month. AOL plans to begin launching the service nationwide throughout this summer and fall. The move comes as SBC Communications cut pricing on DSL service to $14.95. AOL needs a high-speed option to make sure subscribers don't jump ship.
