AOL to Phase Out Kid Sites

There's always WeeWorld

After waffling on the subject for some time, AOL has finally decided to pull the plug on two niche destinations geared toward Gen Y.

RED, a teen destination, and KOL, for tweens, will be phased out of the AOL family. There is currently no word on how the transition will work or whether it will involve layoffs.

The company considered dropping the sites six months ago, according to paidContent, but had a change of heart at the last moment.
