AOL Outsources Video Sales to Amazon

Still queen of the jungle

Amazon has been selected by AOL to handle future sales of movies and TV shows online, reports The Associated Press.

AOL gave no indication as to why it opted to outsource sales to Amazon, only saying it sought to focus more on ad revenue.

AOL's video sales site now points to Amazon's Unbox storefront, replacing the AOL service that just launched last October.

Amazon Unbox has been building steam, with NBC Universal recently choosing to sell its TV shows there after violently rending its contract from Apple's iTunes.
