Animated Potato to Promote AOL's In2TV

An animated potato serves as the frontman for AOL's and Warner Bros.'s first campaign to promote the recently launched In2TV, which offers vintage shows and short clips supported by online advertising, writes DM News (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Together with an online sweepstakes, billboards in New York and Los Angeles portray a regular "couch potato" watching TV from the sofa, while the In2TV animated potato watches television on a wireless laptop. The tag line is "Online. Anytime. Always Free."

"We think this is a very catchy, fun creative campaign, so we wanted to put the potato in high-profile places," said Lisa Judsen, SVP of audience marketing for AOL.

CBS radio stations in 10 markets will promote the month-long sweepstakes, called In2TV Watch to Win Game, which invites consumers to answer trivia questions about clips from the online network's lineup and has about 6,000 prizes to give away. The animated potato pops up during the trivia.
