AdAge reports that McCann Erickson's efforts to chase the Intel account review have led to its loss of the AMD account. AMD is the sole competitor against Intel as a major supplier of chips for Windows-based computers. It says it bills roughly $30 million annually, a lower order of magnitude relative to Intel's enormous account spending. Syndicated measurement services peg AMD's spending even another order of magnitude lower, closer to $2.6 million. AMD said it will start a review process. Apparently caught off guard, McCann said it would have a statement later today.
