AP: Amazon.com to lay off workers in France
Amazon is trying to fire some French workers. The Seattle-based e-tailer is finding, as with many employers of French outfits, the business unfriendly laws, courts and customs make it difficult to do so. Many American firms are finding that having offices in France is proving more of a disadvantage, as the liability exposure to sometimes anti-American courts increases dramatically, costs are very high and decisions to redeploy resources are often restricted.
