Database marketing and customer-insight solutions provider Alterian has acquired email and online marketing technology innovator Dynamics Direct, DM News reports. Financial terms were not disclosed. Alterian also announced Dynamic Messenger, which adds email and online marketing execution capabilities to its Alterian Marketing Suite.

Alterian said the acquisition sought to meet a critical need: the integration of online and database marketing.

Dynamics Direct is ranked by Jupiter Research as one of the world's leading email marketing software providers. Alterian's partner list includes eight of the top 10 database marketing services providers in North America.
