San Francisco-based AKQA was named by Advertising Age's Creativity Magazine as its first-ever Interactive Agency of the Year. The recognition notes AKQA's global culture, creative hires and technological muscle. In 2005 AKQA produced award-winning campaigns for clients such as Nike, Xbox and Unilever and ranks among the largest independent Interactive agencies, with five offices in three countries. Ad Age's Creativity covers the latest campaigns, trends in advertising creative across all media and technology applications.
Each December, Creativity publishes its annual Agencies of the Year issue; this year it added the Interactive category.
"Recognizing the volume and importance of the creative work coming out of the digital/interactive space, we felt it was high time to cite an interactive agency of the year," Teressa Iezzi, Editor of Creativity, said in a statement. "We thought that AKQA embodied the spirit of a big-idea-first approach."
