Agency.com has opened an office in China - its first in Asia and eleventh worldwide - and has tapped Jason Kuperman to take over as its managing director, the company announced. Kuperman comes from sister company TEQUILA and will build out the new office's digital offerings, reporting to Gavin Heron, TBWA\ China CEO.

The opening of the Shanghai office is part of Agency.com's agressive global expansion. Agency.com Worldwide CEO David Eastman has spearheaded an expansion across Europe over the last year, with the opening of four additional offices in the last 10 months.

"The move into Asia will strengthen our capabilities as a provider of global interactive marketing solutions, as clients increasingly look for agency networks that can work for them internationally to create seamless communications for their brands across multiple markets," Eastman said in a statement.

"The Shanghai office will be our first outpost in Asia and we are looking forward to seeing how the market for interactive solutions grows in the run-up to the Olympics."

Agency.com has additional expansions planned for the remainder of the year, mainly in Europe.
