Bollore
Aegis Group shareholders rejected Vincent Bollore's attempt to gain seats on the British agency holding company's board, for the second time.
During an "extraordinary" general meeting in London last week (Wednesday), a significant majority of Aegis shareholders voted against Bollore's two nominees, writes MediaPost (via MediaBuyerPlanner). The vote was nearly identical to the vote held in June, when Bollore's nominees were rejected for the first time.
Bollore, who owns a 29.2 percent stake in Aegis, continues to remain ardent in his desire to gain seats on the board in order to wrest some control. Aegis is the parent of media networks such as Carat and valuable marketing research assets, according to the article. Bollore is the chairman of Aegis rival Havas.
Aegis has been successful in keeping Bollore's nominees off the board by claiming board representation for a shareholder with close connections to a rival is "simply inappropriate," according to Aegis chairman Lord Sharman.
