The actors unions and representatives of major national advertisers have reached a tentative agreement.
The tentative agreement would extend the contract that governs the $2 billion worth of advertising in which actors appear through 2008. If approved by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild, the contract will cover all electronic and emerging media, and performers will get a six percent pay raise, AdWeek reports (via MediaBuyerPlanner).
In addition, the unions and the advertisers will form a committee for making adjustments to the agreement to accommodate changing technologies and "shifting paradigms" within the commercials industry.
